Getting
Work Done Courtesy of Mickey D's & Chuck E. Cheese
When you are facing a deadline,
and NEED to get work done, but your overactive kids just wont
cooperate or dont understand that Mommy needs to get some work
done, consider an outing to a local eatery with an indoor playground
or activities.
First, several hours before
hand, you can start by saying, "If you are good for the next
three hours, we can go to McDonalds for a Happy Meal."
This will hopefully provide you with some extra constructive time
to get work done.
When you arrive at your
fun destination, grab a table large enough for you and all your work
related paraphenalia and start working. The kids can play and eat
while you get work done. You wouldnt be the first mother to
set up a laptop in the corner to get some writing or web design done.
Other great activities
to get accomplished include reading and reviewing contracts. Many
children will play as long as you let them and if you hear
"Mom, can we go home, yet?" that is definitely an event
you want to photograph and immortalize in your childs scrapbook!
Of course, this should
only be utilized as an occasional treat, not a given. First of all,
it will lose its appeal if you go to McDonalds every Monday
and Friday, with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese every Wednesday. Second
of all, while fast food is great for an occasional treat, fast food
on a regular basis will not provide adequate nutrition that a growing
girl or boy needs.
