It's
Dinner Time Already?
How many times have you
been busily working on your home business, only to hear that key turning
in the door. You jump up in horror, glance around and realize that
not only have you not thought about what to do for dinner, but dishes
are still piled up from last night, you forgot to throw any loads
of laundry in the washer, and as you make the mad dash to reach the
kitchen before your husband does so you can attempt to look as through
everything is under control, you glance down to discover that you
are still in your Snoopy nightshirt.... BUSTED!
Busy work-at-home moms are becoming masters at making it look as through
everything is under control, when it really isn't. The big secret
is you need about five minutes lead time to get under control, whether
it is five minutes before your partner arrives, or five minutes while
your baby is napping.
Become a CROCK POT QUEEN! Don't have a crock pot? Well, run (not walk!)
to the nearest WalMart and invest in one! It will literally save you
hours the very first week you use it.
A crock pot, which is technically called a "slow cooker"
because, ta-da, it cooks slowly! How does it work? Sometime in the
morning (or even early afternoon if you happen to forget like me!)
you throw all the applicable ingredients in the pot, put the lid on,
PLUG IT IN (yes, more than one of us has forgotten to plug it in -
remember Ramona Quimby's mom?), and let it cook away for the next
4-10 hours. Then the next time you do that mad dash, all you have
to do is serve it up!
You can find recipes all over the net for slow cookers, as well as
many cookbooks.
