Using Freezer Cooking to Save Time
Struggling to find
time to work, now that after school activities, playdates and carpooling
seem to have taken over your life since school has started back up?
One
thing I have done this school year is freezer
cooking. This is when you make multiples of meals and pop
them in serving/family-sized portions into the freezer. In the morning,
you just take out whatever you would like for dinner, and put into the
fridge to thaw. Then when you get home, pop it into the oven or microwave,
and a home cooked meal is ready. Much better than takeout or "TV
dinners".
I have a month's worth
of dinners in my freezer right now including lasagna, spaghetti, chili,
taco meat, turkey burgers, as well as Pizza
Bagels, which are perfect for lunches, one in the lunchbox in the
morning will be thawed for lunchtime.
Here is a help section
on Freezer
Cooking (explains what it is and how you do it) and some recipes
too! A great time saver, and will give you time to check email instead
of running around the kitchen trying to make something at 6pm.
