Conquering Work-at-Home Isolation
When many women start working
at home, it is enjoyable ~ you can stop when your son wants to show
you his latest masterpiece, and you don't have to listen to your coworker
hum Elvis tunes for hours on end. But many women soon find they are
missing the interaction with clients and coworkers. But what can you
do to prevent this?
1. Join Business Groups
Check with your local business groups and find out when their meetings
are. Not only can you get out of the house, but you will learn something
new, and you have an excellent opportunity to market your business
and to network with other business people in your community
2. Join a Class
It doesn't even have to be related to your business field. Do you
enjoy scrapbooking or pottery? Signup to learn a new technique. Do
you have toddlers at home? Sign up for a kindergym program - you can
chat with other moms while your little ones play.
3. Host a class
Do you have a talent that you believe others could benefit from? Consider
hosting a class on it at your local community center.
4. Do lunch
Make a point of getting together with your friends or old co-workers
for lunch, coffee or drink. Not only will you enjoy the gossip, you
could also get advice from others on your business.
