Only Sell Your Best Products When you are starting your craft business, it is important to only sell quality work. It can be tempting to sell your inferior work at a discounted price, but this can become a dangerous path to fall into before you become established. When you sell inferior products before you become well known for quality work, you can actually earn a reputation for selling craft products that are of a lower quality of those of your competitors. You should also never sell the quality ones alongside the discounted ones. Many people will choose the discounted ones when given a choice, which means that you will not make as large of a profit as you might have earned otherwise. Some craft fairs also have policies against selling "seconds" as well. If you ever plan on offering discounted seconds, always check with your craft show contract to see if there are any policies forbidding this. Once you do become established in your craft field, you can sell seconds without damaging your reputation for quality products. For more information, see our article on selling seconds.
