When to Photograph Your Completed Projects Photographing your completed projects can not only remind you of your successful accomplishments, but also your photographs can serve as a powerful marketing and promotional tool too. Imagine only needing to complete a sample, then being able to sell that same item as a custom order long after the original item and inspiration has been sold. When you photograph a completed project, put a copy of the photo along with your supply list and any instructions you may not remember into a workbook. Be sure this is a workbook only you (and anyone who is working on craft projects for you) has access too, so you feel free to put all your important trade secrets in it too. Then you should have a professional looking portfolio, with a separate craft on each page. You can include descriptive details as well as pricing, time it takes to complete, and approximate lead time for supplies to be ordered and the project completed. As your portfolio grows, you can rearrange the pages info sections, create an additional seasonal portfolio, or even move it onto an "electronic" CD-ROM catalog. You cam also remove poor-selling crafts, ones where you have having supply problems, or even just ones you do not enjoy making. This portfolio will also serve you well if you decide to branch into home party sales or trunk shows, as it can easily serve as the basis for a catalog, or serve as the catalog itself!
