Day Four

Tamara came over today, since the kids seemed back to normal. Once we sat down with our coffee, I started asking my questions. She started telling all about her business, how much fun it was, and how I would love to join her. I then told her that I wasn't interested in Plastiques, but in a similar kind of business, and boy, did she get miffed at me! I probably shouldn't have told her that right away. I got the distinct impression that she didn't want to help me if I wasn't going to be in her "downline", which is a fancy way of saying those people who sign up under her when they join the business. I can't believe how she clammed up though. I thought we were friends, and I know if I was in her shoes, I'd want to help her all that I could. You would think she was protecting trade secrets or something. We only did general chitchat after that, and she made an excuse to leave. Then I wondered if maybe she only agreed to come over for a playdate with the kids because she was trying to recruit me for her business, which makes me mad too! I don't know what it was, but whatever it was, I was not impressed.
