Filing
a Non-Paying Bidder Alert on eBay
What can you do when your auction
winner won't pay?
Your first step should be filing
a non-paying bidder report. THis can be filed anywhere between 7 and 45
days after the end of the auction. Unfortunately, if the bidder has alerted
you that he or she will not pay before the 7 days is up, you still have
to wait until 7 days has elapsed before filing.
Once you have filed, eBay responds
by sending out an email to your auction winner. Sometimes this causes
bidders to pay for their auctions, because the emails can sound pretty
scary to new auction users. Also, once a bidder racks up 3 or more of
these warnings, they can and will be suspended from using eBay.
If your auction winner does
pay after you have filed a non-paying bidder report, you should go back
to eBay to cancel the warning by submitting a Non-Paying Bidder Warning
Removal.
You can file for either by
clicking on the "Non-paying bidder program" link at the bottom
of your "My eBay Seller's Page".
