Using PayPal's Shopping Cart System PayPal has become readily accepted as the premier way of accepting payments on the internet. But what many people don't realize is that PayPal also offers a great shopping cart system for your online store. To set up your shopping cart system, you do need to have HTML experience, or be willing to learn. Otherwise, you can hand the job over to your webmaster for your site. You need to have your pricing set, as well as shipping charges, so most people charge either a flat shipping fee, or a set price for the first item, with an additional shipping charge for each additional item. Users can shop at your site, add and delete items from their shopping cart, then when they are done, can instantly send you payment from their PayPal balance, or with their credit card through PayPal. Once payment is made, PayPal sends you a notification of the payment with a shipping address and item list. You can also view the order online through your PayPal account. Of course, PayPal charges a fee for each transaction, but many sellers agree that at least 50% of all payments come through PayPal, which makes a PayPal-run shopping cart an extremely attractive option for online businesses. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can easily sign up for one. |
