What
is accreditation?
Accreditation is a process
which online learning educations must meet in order to prove their school
upholds standards set out by one of the accrediting agencies. If you want
your coursework accepted by other colleges and universities, you must
select an online school that is accredited.
The Distance
Education and Training Council, also known as the DETC, is the most
widely recognized accrediting agency in the US for schools that provide
distance learning.
It is up to you to decide if
accreditation is important for you. If there is a local school you anticipate
attending in the future, you will want to chat with them to make sure
they will accept any credits you earn at a specific online university.
When you begin looking at online
universities, you can view
their profile to determine whether they are accredited or not.
