How do Online Classes & Distance Learning Work?

While many classes vary in terms of exactly what components are required for online classes, the majority will use one or more of the following:

• e-mail
• online chats (web interface or IRC)
• web page access
• submitting assignments online
• message boards

Very rarely will you be required to install any programs or applications, with the possible exception of some computer training courses where you may be required to install a Web design program or a graphics program.other than that, if you have e-mail program and access to Internet browser (which you must have if you are reading this) you should not have any problems.

If you are required to install IRC, your instructor will likely give you detailed instructions on how exactly to do this and which client here she would like you to use.

Once the class starts, your instructor will let you know exactly how the class will be running, such as this your attendance is required in an online chat, or if you must participate in any forums.

Many students find online classes much easier and convenience than attending classes at a school or university. And even many of those classes are also moving towards requiring students to have e-mail and web page access.
