Can you
take an online class when you don't have child care help?
There are many parents who
are working on their degrees while not having any childcare help whatsoever.
If you decide to take an online class while your kids are with you, all
it takes is some discipline to do it.
Think about the time you can
carve out in your day. Taking the kids to the park or swimming lessons?
Bring any reading with you and get it done there. Stuck doing carpool?
Bring a notebook with you, and work on an assignment question here and
there while you are waiting. Need to listen to a lecture? Download it
to your iPod and listen to it on the go.
Some parents also plan their
entire eclass workload around their children's waking hours. For some,
this means getting up a little bit early, or staying up late and working
on your requirements. It does take discipline - after all who wants to
get up an hour earlier than the rest of the house or miss a new episode
of Desperate Housewives because you need to submit an assignment? But
it is more than doable.
If you decide to tackle an
online class or degree program, make sure you set yourself a schedule.
Once you have a set routine, you will find it much easier to make it work
for you.
