do not realize that the location of the venture capitalist can make a
significant difference when it comes to the deciding factor.
Many VCs like to keep an eye
on how their investments are doing. And it makes more sense when they
are investing in a business only 100 miles away when compared to a business
thousands of miles away.
Do not limit yourself to simply
your own state. One venture outfit may in fact consider the entire Pacific
Northwest, and not just Oregon, so look at the wider region if you are
weeding out based upon geographic location.
