A care package business is a relatively new business that has particularly taken off since businesses began offering online ordering of care packages. But the premise is still the same as it was years ago - a care package is filled with special goodies and treats designed for a specific person (or type of person).

Because many care packages are personalized towards a specific person, you must love to shop, because this business will require a lot of it.

Creativity is very important. Whether you are making an exam kit with munchies for a college student, or a special get well care package, you will need to think about what unique items you could add to a care package. This will also help your business to stand out from all the rest.

For example, the standard exam or midterm kit could include potato chips, Kraft Dinner for a quick meal, and coffee. But what about unique items such as chocolate covered coffee beans for a quick pick-me-up, or a bottle of Visine for those sleep-deprived eyes? Those are what will make your care package stand out.

You will also need a way to package your care packages, and to decorate them appropriately. Standard cardboard boxes work best, with Styrofoam peanuts for fillers. But you should try and decorate the outside to match or hint at the contents inside. And it would not hurt to put your website address all over it too - it is amazing how curiousity will get the better of some people, and they will check out your website just to see exactly what it was in that box.
