Not surprisingly, many owners
do not want to leave their dogs home all day while they work. Or some
dogs might need special assistance, such as a lunchtime insulin shot,
or just need more frequent bathroom breaks.
Several years ago, dog daycares
began popping up. Dog daycares differ from dog kennels in that they only
offer care during daytime working hours - no overnights are included in
the business.
You play, interact and walk
with the dogs for the day, and supervise their interaction with the other
daycare dogs.
Owners pay up to $30.00 per
day for this unique and profitable service, and daycares often have such
a demand that there can be thirty dogs all in "class" for the
day.
You must be prepared for physical
exercise. Most dog daycares treat their dogs to a total of five hours
(or more!) of walking per day. You will also need to have extra leashes,
Halties, and have basic canine first aid training. And you must be able
to keep track of all your canine clients and remember who is who.
