Ghost Writer If you have a knack for writing, you could start a business as a ghostwriter. What exactly is a ghostwriter you ask? As a ghostwriter, you will write articles or content for websites but will not get credit for them, but the business or person to whom you are writing for takes the credit. I can hear you saying but I want to write and get published why would I want to write for someone else and not get paid or acknowledged? A writing career can be a tough one to start and break into. Even when published in magazines, the pay can be minimal. This can be a good way for you to generate some extra income for yourself while remaining to work and write for yourself as well, until your big break comes! *To start: You should have a portfolio of writing samples to show your prospective clients. Many companies and/or individuals will ask that you sign a release stating that once you write the piece they own it. Most times, you can use the company itself as a reference but not all the writing you did for them. Again, the point for most when being a ghostwriter is simply for the paycheck not the acknowledgement that you indeed wrote it. *Positive: This business is relatively cheap to start, if you already have your computer, printer and internet service. There are many sites online that you can put your resume on to find prospective clients. *Negative: The only real negative
aspect to this business is not taking credit for your work but just think
of the money you could be making while still writing for yourself! To Start This Business, MyMommyBiz Recommends... |
