Pet Businesses are HOT!
Pet businesses are becoming
even hotter since the terrorist attacks. Why? Because people are willing
to spend the extra money on their best friend and most faithful companion.
Many people began pampering their pets as a result ~ taking extra walks,
buying gourmet organic dog treats, and splurging on a doggie daycare or
pet sitter for that extra companionship while "Mom and Dad"
are at work.
As a result, pet businesses are in demand in a big way. Kate, of Bow Wowsers
Doggie Deli, found herself bombarded with orders in her first week open
for business. In fact, she had so much business, she had to enlist both
her sister and sister-in-law to help her keep up with the pre-Christmas
rush. Business is booming, and still shows no sign of letting up in the
two week period after Christmas.
Many people who work in the pet industry are discovering that the economic
slump that has been plaguing other businesses has had very little effect
on dog treat businesses, pet photography, or dog daycares. Pet sitters
have noticed a dramatic increase in pet visits while the owners are at
work, but have had a decrease in the number of pet sitting jobs while
the owners are on holidays, as more people are staying at home rather
than travelling.
