Toy Rental Business

Toy rental and toy co-op businesses have been gaining popularity within the past five or six years. Essentially, toys can be rented by a family for a set period of time, usually one month. Rental varies depending on the type and original purchase of the toys.

A toy rental business will usually have a few larger or more expensive toys, such as a Power Wheels-type vehicle, a My Size Barbie House or Little Tikes play equipment. These usually get rented out on a per week basis, so they can be rented to coordinate with a particular event, such as a birthday party, or visiting kids or grandchildren.

You can take a deposit up front, or charge a membership fee to cover damage to any toys. Normal wear and tear is considered normal.

A toy rental business provides low income families with toys they might not be able to otherwise afford, as well as keep a good variety of ever-changing toys in a child's toy box. It also can give parents a chance to give a toy a trial run before spending the money on purchasing it themselves.
