Choosing
Your Target Audience
Before you begin purchasing
advertising space and launchging your ad campaign, you should take the
time to identify your audience and break down the demographics you would
like to target. While you may be flexible in what area of your audience
you wish to target, the core should still be the same for each campaign
unless you are drastically rewriting your marketing plan.
To break down your target audience,
you should look at:
- Gender
- Income level
- Age group
- Education
- Geographic regions
Of course, you may need to
add certain criteria as well. If you are selling pet supplies, pet owners
should be a part of your target audience. Likewise if you are selling
a baby product, parents should be a large part of your target audience.
Once you break down your target
audience, you can begin to look at the best placement for your advertising
efforts, and can save you time and money when you do follow your set target
criteria.
