What
is Merchandising?
Merchandising is something
that many mystery shopping companies are hiring for, and so it is often
something that secret shoppers do in addition to regular mystery shops.
A merchandiser will go to a
store and will be responsible for one manufacturer's line of goods, whether
it be clothing, groceries, toys, etc. You will straighten up all displays
for the manufacturer, often assemble promotional displays or end-caps,
and restock all displays. You will often be required to take inventory,
both for what is currently on the shelves, and what is also in the stock
room or warehouse for the particular store you are merchandisin at.
Merchandising can be a lucrative
addition for a mystery shopper. Jobs generally take 1-2 hours to complete,
although depending on the number of products and the display requirements,
it can take longer to do.
