Keep Your Promises in Your Home Party Business Nothing will sink a consultant's business quicker than a spreading reputation for breaking promises. And this is even more true when you live in a small town where "everyone knows everybody". When you make promises, do everything in your power to keep them! Never make promises you can't keep. If you don't know when you can deliver a product, be up front about it. Be very specific if you are only giving an estimated time of arrival, and not a guaranteed time of arrival. And never, ever, give a specific date unless you are certain about it. What if you are unable to keep your promise? Communication is key! It can make the difference between a happy customer and an angry one. A customer will be quite upset and angry if the delivery date comes and goes with nary a word from you. And she is rightly justified - after all, she was told a specific date, and it didn't arrived - what if it was supposed to be a gift for an event the following day? But if you communicate with your customer to let him or her know there will be a delay, very few customers will have a problem, and will have the time to make alternative arrangements if it was a gift.
