Making the Most of an Online Party While you must plan and invite attendees well in advance, with an online party, you can easily work it around everyone's schedule without a problem. Why? Because online parties are generally held for a set number of days. You invitees can attend during the day, or even the wee hours of the morning, and all purchases made during this time are eligible for hostess gifts. There is usually a chat held sometime during the online party period, where guests can get together and chit chat about the products, or about life in general. When should your hostess begin inviting guests? As opposed to an actual party held in person, a hostess should not invite guests to a virtual party any earlier than one week prior to the event. Even one or two days (or the day of, if it is a longer event) is best. This is because in the wild online world, online events tend to be forgotten about much more quickly. One drawback of an online party is that people don't get the physical aspect of the products you and your hostess is selling. Some products that look positively dismal in a catalog come to life and become best sellers when they are seen in person. You should also suggest your hostess add a signature line to her email and or message board postings advertising her party. You should be careful to caution her on spam, particularly if she is rather new to the internet. The big advantage of an online party is that you are able to reach many more customers that you might not have otherwise done. If your hostess is active in an online community, you could find an overwhelming response, especially for a newer company. |
