As a new wife and student teacher, I attended
a home-decorating party where the consultant asked me to join her
team. I had never considered being a consultant of anything before,
but it "clicked" in my head. I would be finishing my college
soon, and my husband and I wanted to have kids and for me to stay
home. I still wanted to have a business or job of somesort to keep
me busy (HA - little did I know the kids would take care of THAT!).
When I came home that night, I decided being a consultant for that
company just wasn't my "thing." I liked the products,
but I didn't BELIEVE that EVERYONE really needed them - thus I doubted
I could sell them whole-heartedly.
What I did was go online and type in "home party books"
into Google. I decided books and education were my passion and the
only thing I could really sell, that I was truly in love with, and
that I really believed everyone could benefit from. I found USBORNE
BOOKS AT HOME! I was THRILLED that such a company even EXISTED!
I signed up without having seen the books or having been to party.
The sign up cost was just $60 that month, and my kit contained a
higher value of books than I paid anyway - so I figured I wouldn't
be out much!
Instead I GAINED SO MUCH! As a new recruit, I worked hard through
my first 12 weeks and earned tons of free books. Then, I had our
baby girl and took off about a year - YOU CAN DO THAT WITH USBORNE
- there are NO monthly minimums!! When the time was right (and people
were calling me for shows and schools were calling about bookfairs)
I decided to start again. I restarted in November and promoted to
Supervisor in June!
I LOVE having this business!! I have great books for my family,
and I love getting to know other moms with the same interests as
I have. I can work with schools and libraries and stay in the education
world, but not from 9-5! Also - I earned the trip to HAWAII this
time, something I never dreamed I would be able to do. I set my
own hours and work around my kids - and I feel so blessed to even
have found this opportunity.
My husband and I believe in this company and the potential my business
has. He helps me with my events and cheers me on - it's our family
business and something we thank God for!

books, amount depends on the price of the kit. There is always a Base
Kit available with a large selection of books, or a smaller investment
Monthly special kit. Also included are a handbook, training CD, supplies
and usually a FREE website for a certain amount of months and a trial
subscription to the online ordering system.

is the commission structure?
You earn average of 25% commission. Direct sales (not home parties) are
more and bookfairs are less. As a consultant, you earn an extra 4% on
every recruit under you. As a Supervisor you earn 11% on every recruit
and also on your own sales. Every month there is a 5% bonus available
if your sales are over $700. Our wonderful Home Office also has great
products available to earn every month!
