Adding
the Copyright Symbol to Your Page
Adding a copyright symbol to
your copyright notice on the footer of your webpage is something many
webmasters have problems with. After all, there is no © character
on your keyboard for a quick and easy insertion into your webpage.
Some web design programs have
a feature where you can "insert characters" which is often found
on the "Insert" menu of the program. You may have to do some
hunting around, as there are many non-keyboard characters that webmasters
can add to pages.
If you do not have any insert
character options, or you are doing straight html coding without the use
of a design editor, you can simply insert the alpha numeric code of the
copyright symbol instead.
Inserting ©
into your code (no tags are required) will result in the © appearing.
Take care to include both the & before the word "copy" and
the ; after the word, otherwise it will not appear properly in the browser
as a copyright symbol.
