Submitting Free Articles for Links Submitting free articles to the various article databases is a great idea to not only get links to your site, but to also get more exposure to your site through other websites, newsletters and ezines. When you submit an article, you get to add an "author's bio" or "resource box" to the bottom of every page. When others publish your article, they will also run the resource box, promoting you and your site/business. How does this benefit publishers? They are receiving free content for free for their websites and/or newsletters. This saves them time, money and effort creating their own content, or hiring someone to write the content for them. In exchange, they must agree to include the resource box. However, not all publishers will hyperlink your link, which would mean it would not count towards link popularity or PageRank for your site. If you find this is the case, sometimes a polite email to the webmaster is all that is needed for him or her to hyperlink it for you. How can you find where your article has been republished? Either do a search for the article name, or do a search for a string of five or six words that appear within your article, using Google or Yahoo and placing quotes around the word string. Some publishers may tweak the title slightly, which would mean you will not find it doing an ordinary title search. Where can you submit articles? IdeaMarketers is one popular place. FamilyContent is another popular article submission if your articles fall within that niche. There are also many Yahoo Groups that allow you to submit articles. Do a search online for "submit an article" and a couple of your targeted keywords and see what you can find. |
