Companion Toolbar
The Yahoo companion toolbar
is yet another toolbar that is useful for webmasters. It provides easy
access to a Yahoo search box on any webpage, and also comes with many
additional features, just as the Google toolbar does, including a pop-up
blocker.
The most significant feature
of this site is the fact that once downloaded, to do any customization,
you need to sign in with a Yahoo username. Many webmasters are concerned
about privact implications of this. Not only will Yahoo be tracking your
surfing habits, but it will also know exactly who you are, through all
the informtion you need to submit just to create your Yahoo username.
However, if you aren't concerned, use your username and you can customize
and modify your toolbar.
Yahoo has also done limited
beta testing of other toolbars. For example, Yahoo had a limited beta
release of their WebRank enabled toolbar (which
is the one I use) as well as an Anti-Spyware toolbar.
