Using Disposable Email Addresses
Using a disposable
email address is an easy way to filter out spam, and to know exactly who
is selling your e-mail address.
Whenever you sign
up or register at a web site, use a unique email address. so if you are
signing up at Jan's Sweeps Site, you would create a new e-mail address
called janssweeps@yourdomain.com then, if you ever receive e-mail spam
at that same address, you will know exactly the company or web site that
is responsible.
Once you have
this new e-mail address at that, you will simply forward it to your main
in not address the use for daily use. Then when you no longer used chance
site, or you are having a problem with spam that is originating with an
e-mail address, you simply delete it. And because you were using an e-mail
forward, your main email address is protected from the spam that site
generated.
Most hosting companies
will give you an enormous number of e-mail addresses or an unlimited amount.
But if you find you need more, particularly if you're simply using them
to forward, ask your host for more and most are happy to accommodate you.
