Take Advantage of the Summer Break for School Fundraisers Most consultants tend to take the summer off from planning on working on school fundraisers, but that is the biggest mistake to make! Taking advantage of the summer break to get going on your fundraising efforts is the smart move to ensure your findraising success throughout the year. When the school year begins, many groups are disorganized in the beginning, and often they don't have the time to explore new fundraising opportunities when it comes time to raise money for school trips, events, equipment, uniforms, etc. And more often than not, they tend to just go back to the same old fundraiser they did the year before. But you should take advantage of this chaos by getting yourself ready before the school year even starts. You should begin by making you preparations, such as writing up introductions for your specific kind of fundraiser, and tailor it to each kind of group. There is no reason why you can't offer the same kinds of products to the cheerleaders as you do to the choir group - you just need to word your information a little differently, so it seems like the perfect opportunity to raise money for each kind of group. You can also start making lists of different school groups you think might want to use your products for fundraising. And ask your kids and their friends about what kind of trips various school groups have planned. This can give you an early heads up. Then as soon as school starts back, you can begin contacting the various groups you feel might use your company for a fundraiser. And with the majority of your work done, you won't be rushing around getting information together like many other consultants who decided to take the summer off too.
