Using sample surveys for more customers If you're trouble getting new customers for your direct sales buisiness, something you can try to do is a sample survey. What you need is samples, business cards, brochures, and some phone time. First, decide what kind of samples you want to do. It is best if you do all the synchronous samples, then you don't have to worry about confusing who got what to try out. wWhen you start talking to someone about your business, say you are doing a sample survey for those who take a brochure or catalog. In order to get a freebie, all the have to do is one follow-up call to simply let you know what she thought of the product. If there are some choices, such as colors or scents, let the customer choose.then hand them a customer card, for them to fill out. You you want to get her name, mailing address and phone number. And you might wanna add little checkboxes on the bottom where they can check off if they're interested in hosting a party, becoming a consultant, or receiving a catalog through the mail regularly. When he part, remind her you will be giving her a phone call in the next day or two to ask her what she thinks of the product. And when she leaves, you can make little notes on the back so you can remember any details about it, such as what color she chose or where you met her. The most important part of the sample survey is obviously to make your follow-up phone call. It is crucial that you do this within the first day or two. If you wait a week chances are she would've forgotten, and if she'd been considering the business opportunity, it's not fresh in her mind anymore. So do make the time for that follow-up phone call within 48 hours. When you make the phone call, you can judge the situation. Did she love the product? Is she asking a lot of questions about becoming a consultant herself? Has she asked about similar products or about something from the catalog?
