Recruiting on the internet is something that most people would have thought was impossible only a few years ago. Now, most direct sales businesses have guidelines in place for those who would like to advertise and recruit online.

The majority of businesses allow consultants to advertise and recruit freely online, as long as spamming techniques are not used. This means you cannot send unsolicited emails about your business to others, unless they specifically request it, or post to message boards where ads are not allowed. The key to successful recruiting is a fast response time. People online expect replies within a day (and some within an hour or so). If you are advertising online, be prepared to check your email at least once a day, and more often if possible. If you are only prepared or able to go online once per week, by the time you respond to any inquiries, chances are, that person has already moved on to the next consultant.
